The day I bought my Leica

Today I entered the realm of Leica.

After much contemplation at night I went back to Foto Gregor and purchased my Classic Leica M6 TTL with a 0.72 Viewfinder. With it came a Summicron 50mm f/2.0 lens.

I love this camera. Say what you like about Leica but this camera is built superbly and I'm sure it will be a joy to shoot.

My Leica and a beer.

After getting the Leica I got shooting right away, then we went off for some afternoon tea.

Mini deserts, looking delicious

Tiny Muffin.

It was time to get some film through the new camera.

Great light coming through the trees in Cologne

Cologne Cathedral at night.

I popped into the McDonalds next to my Hotel quickly after shooting that night to grab a bottle of water.

The Spaniard

The violinist above was sitting outside the McDonalds, quietly playing a tune. Case open looking at the people passing by. He was, as far as I could tell, homeless. I gave him one of the bottles of water and whatever change was left over. I asked him to pose for a photography and he happily obliged.  He put on his prosthetic foot ( yeah, also an amputee) and stood proud with the Cathedral in the background. He was very happy to have the attention of just a random stranger. After this photograph I took a photo for him with his cellphone, (think $5  Pay as you go) and showed me all of his pictures with other strangers. It was a great experience to have and I wish him the best on whatever and wherever he is.

Country side tomorrow.
